CaixaBank has communicated its irrevocable decision to redeem in advance and in full an issue of preference shares issued by Bankia in July 2017 for an initial nominal amount and current outstanding balance of 750 million euros, admitted to listing on the Irish market.
The entity has adopted this decision to prepay this issue, which was computed as additional tier 1 capital of CaixaBank and its group, once the corresponding authorization has been obtained from the ECB.
The full early redemption date will be July 18, 2022, coinciding with the first review date, and the redemption price for each preference share will be 100% of its nominal amount (200,000 euros), also paying the remuneration accrued and not satisfied.
