Busquets becomes the third Spanish player with the most caps

The FC Barcelona player Sergio Busquets became this Thursday the third Spanish footballer with the most caps, a total of 134 games, only surpassed by Iker Casillas (167) and Sergio Ramos, who heads this classification with 181 games.

Busquets, starter this Thursday against Portugal on the first day of the League of Nations, was fourth in the list of internationals in 'La Roja', but his presence in the eleven has allowed him to surpass Xavi Hernández (133), his current coach at Barça.

In this way, Busquets -who made his debut with Spain on April 1, 2009- only has ex-Madridistas Sergio Ramos and Iker Casillas ahead of him, who continue to dominate the first two international caps with the Spanish team.

'Busi' is European champion (2012) and world champion (2010) with Spain, as well as an essential player with all the coaches since he made his debut with the national team. The Catalan midfielder will play his fourth World Cup in Qatar after South Africa, Brazil and Russia.
