Barça crushes Montpellier at the Barça party at the Gamper

Patri Guijarro, with a double, was the most outstanding in the set that the Catalan roller (6-0) endorsed the French team

MADRID, 23 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Women's FC Barcelona won the Joan Gamper Trophy on Tuesday after crushing (6-0) the French Montpellier who never got hooked on the game in a Johan Cruyff that touched the full -5,125 spectators-, a duel that the Barça team dominated from the beginning finally, in an exhibition of demand, intensity and football.

Midfielder Patri Guijarro was the most outstanding player of the match, with a demonstration of control, balance and tactical intelligence to support the entire team during the 90 minutes of Barça superiority. In addition, the pivot scored two goals, with a brace from Geyse Ferreira and goals from Fridolina Rolfö and Ariana Arias to complete the resounding win in what is already a summer classic for Barça.

Despite the important absences -Putellas, Bonmatí, Graham Hansen or Nuria Rábano, among others-, Barça started the match in a more organized and intense way, with good combinations and high pressure. The first approaches came from the right, taking advantage of the depth and physical power of Lucy Bronze.

In addition, the French team saw their options reduced with the injury of Petermann, the reference in attack and the club's top scorer last year, due to a blow to the head with Irene Paredes. This increased Barça's presence in the opposition half and the prize came in the 23rd minute with a header from Geyse Ferreira, in 'killer mode'. An inertia that continued just five minutes later, when Guijarro scored a great goal from the edge of the box, connecting a powerful shot placed to the left of goalkeeper Salvador.

And it was Guijarro again, just before the break, who completed his particular double with a header placed after a center by Claudia Pina in a lateral free kick. The pivot finished off alone, with the surveillance very focused on the Irene Paredes tower, to arrive with a large mattress at rest. Giráldez brought on Font in the second half, who replaced Paños in goal.

Geyse wanted to continue with the Gamper party and led a team wanting to give back to his team the support received during the duel. And he again celebrated another goal, again with a header, to a pass from Bronze, who precisely placed the ball on the Brazilian's head to continue expanding the account. Rolfö also wanted to put his signature on the match and, like the previous three, he hit a nice header, perfectly marking the times of the jump.

Giráldez continued moving the bench to distribute minutes, and with a third of the duel remaining, Torrejón, Engen and Arias came on, the latter scoring the sixth and final Barça goal, completing the set against a Montpellier side that never had a chance and did not test the goalkeeper of the Catalan team until minute 72. Guijarro was able to celebrate a 'hat-trick', but missed a penalty signaled by hands in the French area, in a play that ended with Engen injured.

The entrance to the field of younger and inexperienced players caused a loss of order, with more errors in the automatisms devised by coach Giráldez and hallmark of this team. It is the second victory for FC Barcelona in this pre-season, after losing (1-2) against Bayern and beating PSG on penalties in a summer triangle.
