Arrimadas blames Sánchez for his "destructive capacity" and sees his economic management as a "pyramid scam"

The president of Ciudadanos, Inés Arrimadas, has criticized Pedro Sánchez for his "destructive capacity", which "he has to spare", and has described his economic management as a "pyramidal scam", with the focus especially on the pension system.

In his speech at the plenary session of Congress focused on the Government's anti-crisis measures, Arrimadas has emphasized his criticism of the revaluation of pensions, foreseen in the General State Budgets (PGE) 2023, and has once again transferred to the president some of his proposals, such as linking the rise to workers' wages.

Although he has recognized that pensioners "deserve" their pension and that it be revalued, he has stressed the need to "fix the base" of the system with measures such as facilitating private employment. In this line, he has urged him "to look more at Portugal" and undertake measures such as the deflation of personal income tax.

"These things increase the base of the system and if they don't, they are doing a pyramid scheme," added the 'orange' president, stressing that those most affected in this context will not be "the billionaires and the bankers", but "the class worker and a half.

Arrimadas has also criticized Sánchez that the PGE do not contemplate high percentages of financing for innovation, energy infrastructure, industry or employment promotion. "A country that spends half its budget paying pensions and debt cannot prosper," she warned.
