Applus raises 23% semi-annual adjusted net income, to 53.3 million, and maintains forecasts for 2022

MADRID, 26 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Applus recorded an adjusted net result of 53.3 million euros during the first half of this year, which represents an increase of 23% compared to that achieved a year earlier, when it stood at 43.3 million euros, as indicated the company, which maintains the outlook for results for the 2022 financial year.

Likewise, the statutory net result attributable to the group was 21.8 million euros, compared to profits of 14.7 million euros a year earlier.

Between January and June, revenues stood at 986.7 million euros, which represents a rise of 17%, while the operating result reached 97.1 million euros, 21% higher than in the first half of 2021 and the gross operating result (Ebitda) stood at 156.4 million, 16.5% more.

"We maintain the outlook for results for the 2022 financial year. Although political and economic uncertainty is impacting the markets, we are confident in the strength of our business and the good results obtained year after year. We hope to compensate for the termination of the Automotive contract in Costa Rich with the strong growth of the rest of the business lines within the Group and the implementation of new plans to increase efficiency", said the CEO of Applus, Joan Amigó.

"Our objective continues to be to improve the quality of our service portfolio through divestments in non-strategic businesses and the acquisition of companies with higher growth and good margins. We therefore reiterate the estimate of organic growth of between 5% and 8%, as well as improving the adjusted operating profit margin each year by around 30-40 basis points", he added.

Amigó has been "very satisfied" with having assumed the role of CEO of the group, in which his objective is to fulfill the Strategic Plan for the next three years presented last November.

"My priority at this time is to increase operational excellence and improve cost-benefit, with the aim of improving the margin and the return on capital employed. I am convinced that, if we achieve the objectives established in the Strategic Plan and maintain our good financial performance, we will increase shareholder value," he stressed.
