Applus grows in cybersecurity with the purchase of Jtsec

Applus has increased its bet on cybersecurity with the purchase of the cybersecurity firm Jtsec in the face of growing demand driven by the acceleration of the Internet of Things (IoT).

The Spanish company has highlighted the connections in the sector of the Jtsec directive, as well as its participation in various European forums involved in the preparation of regulation, according to a statement.

The Spanish certification firm already acquired Lightship, another provider of these services based in North America, at the beginning of the year.

The executive vice-president of the Applus Laboratories Division, Jordi Brufau, highlighted that the Spanish company has known Jtsec and its "exceptional professionals" for "years". "We are delighted that they are joining the Applus team to jointly tackle the new global challenges of cybersecurity", he added.

Applus has nearly 2,000 workers and offers its services globally from its network of laboratories, distributed throughout Europe, Asia and North America.
