Amor (ATA) assures that the preliminary agreement for a new self-employed contribution system "is very close"

MADRID, 27 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The president of the Association of Self-Employed Workers (ATA), Lorenzo Amor, assured this Monday that the preliminary agreement with the Government and the rest of the associations of self-employed workers to establish a new contribution system "is very close".

"At the moment we are very close to there being a pre-agreement, but it is caught with pins. Until we see the horizons of sections for 2023, 2024, 2025 and the final text, everything is caught with threads. Right now, we are very closer to reaching a pre-agreement than last week", Amor told the media before the opening of the ATA Summer Course.

The Government and the social partners have met again this Monday, in an appointment set at 8:30 in the morning, to continue advancing in the new contribution system for real income for the self-employed. Amor has pointed out that throughout the last week all the parties have been talking "although not officially within the table".

After the meeting on Monday, the president of ATA has given himself a period of 24 hours to analyze the documents and verify that they meet the demands of his association.

"We do not want to launch the bells on the fly until we see the horizon of sections until 2025 and what has been fundamental for us: that the flat rate had to be maintained for new self-employed registrations, without any type of restrictions, that it had to be begin to uncover the bases for those over 47 years of age and that the net returns are net returns from the activity carried out by the self-employed and not from other aspects. We have to see how the text is worded to see if we agree or not, " has added Love.

Despite the fact that the Government intended to present this reform to Brussels before the end of the first half of the year, Amor has recognized that the Government has not been in a hurry at any time and the self-employed have not been in a hurry either.

"We have been negotiating this issue for a year and a half, which accelerated from February, but there has been no countdown or urgency for having to reach any type of agreement before a date", he specified.
