Amazon Files New Lawsuit to Pursue the Buying and Selling of Fake Reviews on Facebook

MADRID, 19 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Amazon has filed a lawsuit against the administrators of more than 10,000 Facebook groups that managed the publication of false reviews in exchange for money or free products, as reported by the multinational in a statement.

Specifically, these are groups created for the purpose of recruiting people willing to post incentivized or misleading reviews on Amazon websites in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Japan.

Amazon has specified that it will use the information collected in the course of this legal action to identify possible offenders and to eliminate those false reviews that have been commissioned by these alleged scammers and that would not have been detected by the advanced technology available to the company. or by the researchers who permanently monitor their stores.

"Our teams block millions of suspicious product reviews before they are seen by our customers. With this lawsuit, we are going a step further to uncover violators operating through social networks," said the vice president of services to Amazon business associates, Darmesh Metha.

The infringers behind these groups ran fake reviews of hundreds of products available on Amazon, including car stereos and camera tripods.
