Alberto Rodríguez's party joins the alliance of Compromís, Más País, Equo and other regional forces

Drago is committed to joining the collaboration framework in which the Errejón party is also immersed

MADRID, 23 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The 'Drago' project, promoted in the Canary Islands by the former secretary of Organization of Podemos Alberto Rodríguez, joins the strategic alliance that Más País (the formation led by Íñigo Errejón) Verdes Equo, Compromís, Més per Mallorca, the Chunta Aragonesista, Coalición for Melilla and Movement for Dignity and Citizenship in Ceuta.

This has been indicated in a statement by the platform led by Rodríguez, to detail that it is incorporated into the so-called 'Turia Agreement' with these seven formations, which define it as a collaboration framework based on "horizontality" and respect for sovereignty of political projects".

'Drago' has explained that from his commitment to training strictly Canarian obedience and with principles of confederality, he announces his participation in this alliance of parties where they will contribute their "political vision of reality" of the archipelago and the need for "respect" for the people canary, "in conditions of equality with other territories that suffer in various ways from the centralist push".

"Compromís, Més por Mallorca, Chunta Aragonesista, Más País, and Verdes Equo, share common lines with our space that will allow us to work in coordination when deemed necessary: rootedness in the territory, values such as social justice or ecology, and the clearly questioning the centralist and exclusive vision of political power in the State", he deepens.

In this way, Alberto Rodríguez's project highlights that they will "strengthen" and "widen" the relationship with forces that defend, from different spheres, "effective self-government in the territories, an indisputable defense of public services and an ecological transition and productive model that is fair for the citizens of our towns".

Finally, Drago proclaims that he will continue "the path of supranational relations", inside and outside the state framework, with other spaces, especially insular ones, with which the Canary Islands have "historical ties".

Rodríguez, who left the purple party after losing his seat, is committed to the collaborative space promoted by Errejón, Compromís and the rest of the forces that are not linked to United We Can.

The former number three of Podemos criticized that he had not received more support in the face of this unfair decision issued by the president of Congress, Meritxell Batet, as a result of the Supreme Court ruling against him, and even accused United Podemos structures of "attacking him " and "blame" him for keeping his congressional seat vacant in the chamber.

At the end of last year, he announced the "adopted and irrevocable" decision to head the regional list of Proyecto Drago as a candidate for the Presidency of the Government of the Canary Islands in the upcoming May elections.

He also expressed that his project is willing to try with other leftist formations and social groups in order to configure a unity candidacy, for which there are already open conversations.

In contrast, Podemos claimed that Noemí Santana was the person called to "lead" a broad left-wing front and called on Rodríguez to join the space now led by Podemos, since it did not seem logical that a project that arose "practically out of nowhere "will command the candidacy.

And along these lines, the Organization Secretary, Lilith Verstrynge, made it clear in a recent interview with Europa Press, asked about the attitude of her predecessor in the position, that "forms in politics are important." "The truth is that there is a certain belligerence that is difficult to understand having the political origin of the candidate," she launched.

The possibility of a unity candidacy on the left beyond the PSOE is being explored without that option being clarified, with a party table where various formations participate, including Podemos and IU.
