Coronavirus: € 21.1 billion of deferrals of social security contributions since march

SMES and TPE will be able to spread the repayment of the deferrals of expenses which they have benefited during the crisis up to 36 months.

In total, more than two million individuals have benefited for € 6.9 billion, and 700 000 businesses for a total amount of 14.2 billion euros, said in a press release the caisse nationale des Urssaf. "Since the month of July, employers must pay social security contributions current. They can, however, ask to see their employer contributions in the event of difficulty," recalls the cashier, adding that for the self-employed, "the recovery of normal resumes in September."

A refund spread out over 36 months

SMES and TPE will be able to spread the repayment of the deferrals of expenses which they have benefited during the crisis up to 36 months, according to a measure adopted in the framework of the third amended finance act for 2020 voted on in July. The duration of sprawl "will be according to the situation of the company and will be discussed between the Acoss (national fund of the Urssaf) and the companies", was it explained on the side of Bercy.

The self-employed workers will receive later in August "as a timeline on the basis of an income forecast 2020 50% reduction by the Urssaf, to defer to the second half of 2021 the payment of contributions deferred during the crisis", according to the release. But this timing will be adjustable for those who wish "to limit the extent of the adjustment in 2021". "Remission of debts can be granted to enterprises in difficulty, when they do not have the benefit of exemptions and payment assistance", also indicates the Urssaf.
