Yolanda Díaz bets on a "territorial agreement" to achieve the investiture

"15 days ago, Sumar sent the PSOE its program proposal and we await progress"

BARCELONA, 13 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Sumar candidate and acting second vice president of the Government, Yolanda Díaz, has opted this Sunday for a "territorial agreement" that includes the independence movement to achieve a government investiture.

"What is good for Spain and for Catalonia is to have a solid and robust democracy", he said in an interview for 'Prensa Ibérica' published in 'El Periódico de Catalunya', and praised the cultural and linguistic plurality in Spain.

Díaz stressed that there is a political problem in Catalonia that has to be resolved through dialogue, and added that he is not in a position to "set Catalonia on fire."

"Feijóo's leadership is fading away. He is wasting our time with a failed investiture", adding that a PP and Vox government would worsen relations between Catalonia and the rest of Spain.

The leader of Sumar has warned that there are parties that do not view an electoral repetition with bad eyes and considers that these parties "will be penalized by the citizens" in case it happens.

On Sumar's negotiations with the PSOE, he said: "15 days ago, Sumar sent the PSOE its programmatic proposal and we await progress."

He has stressed the urgent need to form a government due to the high prices of food or gasoline: "The longer we extend the investiture, the worse the situation of the Spanish men and women will be."
