Vox once again blocks the investiture of López Miras and opens the possibility of new elections

VOX tries at the last minute to get the vice presidency, two councils and repeal the Mar Menor Law and PP does not accept

CARTAGENA (MURCIA), 10 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The votes against the nine VOX deputies in the Murcia Regional Assembly have knocked down the possibility of the PP candidate, Fernando López Miras, of being invested in the second vote as president of the Community and opens the possibility of new elections.

The PP candidate to preside over the Autonomous Community, Fernando López Miras, has not achieved the simple majority (more 'yes' than 'no') necessary in the second vote to be sworn in as president of the Community. He only had 21 votes in favour, those of the PP, and 24 against, corresponding to PSOE, VOX and Grupo Mixto -Podemos-.

By not being invested, the president of the Assembly, Visitación Martínez, will once again start a consultation process with the parliamentary groups to propose a new candidate.

The candidate for president of the Community, Fernando López Miras, addressed VOX in his address directly and warned them that "no one would understand a blockade carried out by the left, by the Socialist Party, by Podemos and also by VOX" and everything " for armchairs".

He has blamed VOX for the possibility of new elections for its blockade of the investiture together with PSOE and Podemos, "a great irresponsibility to lead the Region to call for elections when the result of the polls has been so clear and forceful" and all for wanting "armchairs".

Something that has been subsequently confirmed by the provincial president and spokesman for the VOX Parliamentary Group, José Ángel Antelo, who has made a last-minute proposal, already in the speaker's gallery, to the PP in which he requested the vice-presidency and two ministries out of 10, as well such as the repeal of the Ley del Mar Menor.

The first of 12 points called for "repealing/modifying/reforming the Mar Menor recovery and protection law, agreeing with the affected agents and with the aim of truly protecting the Mar Menor and not criminalizing our countryside and its auxiliary industry" and "promoting increase in irrigated areas.

The PP has rejected the agreement. The spokesman for the Popular Parliamentary Group, Joaquín Segado, has rejected, on behalf of López Miras, the agreement, arguing that, "regarding the Mar Menor, not one step back in its protection."

He has asked them to say clearly "what they want to do with the Mar Menor Law, because reforming, repealing or modifying is not the same thing. Repealing is one thing and reforming or modifying is quite another" and they have criticized the fact that they have been trying for weeks to " pronounce themselves on a document of 88 measures that we have presented to them and of which we still do not have the slightest idea of what they think".

In the same way, they have been made ugly by the fact that they speak of "concern about the program" and what they are presented with "is a document that says we want a vice-presidency and two ministries."

"What you are asking for are armchairs, they don't care about the powers they assume," he criticized.

After the blockade of the investiture of López Miras, the president of the Assembly, Visitación Martínez, is going to start a new consultation process with the parliamentary groups to propose a new candidate. If in two months, counting from July 7, an agreement is not reached, it would go to elections.
