Vox announces an agreement with the PP and will preside over the Parliament of Aragon

Vox has announced that it has reached an agreement with the PP in Aragon for the election, tomorrow June 23, of the Parliamentary Table for the next legislature and will be the deputy elected for Zaragoza from the Abascal party, Marta Fernández, who will occupy the presidency of the autonomous legislative body.

According to Vox in a statement, the agreement between the two formations is "the result and expression of a majority of change that has manifested itself in Aragon" after the elections of May 28, although it clarifies that the agreement reached is limited exclusively to the constitution de la Mesa and "there is no talk of investiture", points out the party.

Of course, Vox maintains that both formations will continue "without pause, but with discretion, in search of an agreement" in order to draw up a governance pact in favor of the "popular" candidate, Jorge Azcón.

In this regard, the formation of Abascal states that said representation in the presidency of the Parliament supposes a "pride and a responsibility" that it assumes with the "institutional respect that the Parliament of Aragon deserves, and with an attitude of service" towards its neighbors and his "pluralism" of political options.

The Courts of Aragon will hold their constitutive session this Friday, which will serve to verify the support of the PP candidate, Jorge Azcón, after his round of contacts with political groups and to learn about the role of Vox and other potential parliamentary partners in the Table.

The results of 28M left Jorge Azcón's PP as the list with the most votes, with 28 seats, but it would need the support of at least six other deputies to achieve an absolute majority in its investiture, which is still without a date.

For its part, Vox obtained seven deputies in 28M and Azcón has already met on occasion with the formation of Santiago Abascal to, among other things, discuss his role in the Table, as a prelude to an agreement that would allow him to govern. But the PP has not only been seen with Vox, but also started a round of contacts with other parties that could offer their support to the 'popular'.
