UN humanitarian chief commemorates six months of war in Gaza as 'terrible milestone'

MADRID, 6 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The head of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Martin Griffiths, commemorated this Saturday the eve of the six-month war in Gaza as a "terrible milestone" that has left "death, devastation and the immediate prospect of a shameful artificial famine" to the population of the Palestinian enclave.

"For those affected by the horror that began with the attacks (on Israel) on October 7, it has been six months of pain and torment," Griffiths lamented on his X social network account.

Griffiths has warned that "every second" that the war continues "the seeds of a future darkened by this relentless conflict are being sown."

"The end of the war should have been declared a long time ago," added the UN humanitarian chief before estimating that "rarely has a conflict generated so much global indignation and so much impunity."

Once again, Griffiths dedicates his thoughts to the families of the deceased and the hostages before asking that this fateful date "fuel a collective determination to bring justice to this betrayal of humanity."
