Ukraine claims to have repelled a Russian drone attack on kyiv

MADRID, 11 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Ukrainian authorities have claimed to have repelled a night attack with drones by Russian troops on the capital, Kiev, in what has been the second attack from the air against this city since the beginning of the month.

The head of the Military Administration of the City of Kiev, Serhiy Popko, has indicated in his Telegram account that "all detected air targets moving in the direction of Kiev have been destroyed by air defense forces and means."

"The enemy has attacked Kiev from the air for the second time this month. Previously, like in early July, the enemy has used (Iranian-made) Shahed bombardment munitions. Iranian drones have been launched from the south, probably from the Russian city of Krasnodar," Popko said.

The Ukrainian Ministry of the Interior has explained that the windows of several houses have been damaged and some fields have caught fire, but that there has been no information on victims.
