UK says Russia "increasingly applies planned economy principles" in its military industry

London claims that Moscow would be carrying out "extremely punitive rationing in many parts of the front"

The intelligence services of the United Kingdom have indicated this Tuesday that Russia would be "rationing" the supply of artillery ammunition due to the shortage of this material in front areas in Ukraine and have indicated that Moscow "increasingly applies the principles of economy planned" to its military-industrial complex.

"Over the last few weeks, artillery ammunition shortages have probably worsened to the point that extremely punitive rationing is being applied on many parts of the front," they noted, before adding that "this has almost certainly been a crucial reason whereby no Russian formation has managed to generate significant offensive actions at the operational level".

Thus, they have highlighted that "Russia, with almost complete certainty, has already had to resort to the delivery of old ammunition that was previously considered unsuitable for use", while recalling that on March 3 a presidential decree was approved that "It presents measures for the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to bypass the authority of managers of defense industries that do not meet production targets."
