MADRID, 9 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The number of women murdered by their partner or ex-partner in Spain so far this year has risen to 35 after confirming the last two cases that were under investigation, that of a 31-year-old woman in the province of Córdoba and that of another 91 years old in Tenerife, both occurred this Tuesday.

These cases are added to the one that occurred in Almería this Monday, August 7, where a 27-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her spouse, so that in just 24 hours there have been three femicides.

The woman from Córdoba had three underage daughters and, in her case, there were previous complaints of gender violence against the alleged aggressor. The victim from Tenerife, on the other hand, had no minor children, or previous complaints against the alleged aggressor, as reported by the Government Delegation against Gender Violence on its social networks.

With the confirmation of these latest cases, the number of women murdered by gender violence in Spain has risen to 1,219 since 2003, when these data began to be collected. Regarding the number of orphaned minors, the figure increases to 416 since 2013 and 39 this year, after adding the three daughters of the murdered woman from Córdoba. The Almería victim also had a daughter and two minor sons.

The acting Minister for Equality, Irene Montero, has sent her "love" and "respect" to the relatives and friends of the victims. "To save lives, let's not let our guard down. At the slightest sign, let's not downplay it: call 016 or 112 if it is an emergency", she has expressed on her social networks.

The Ministry of Equality, through the Government Delegation against Gender Violence, points out that from 016 you can request advice on available resources and the rights of victims of gender violence, as well as legal advice from 8:00 a.m. hours at 10:00 p.m. every day of the week, with attention in 53 languages and a service adapted to possible situations of disability.

Thus, remember that in an emergency situation you can call 112 or the emergency telephone numbers of the National Police (091) and the Civil Guard (062). If it is not possible to make a call and in a dangerous situation, the ALERTCOPS application can be used, from which an alert signal will be sent to the police with geolocation.

These means of assistance can be activated by the victim and also by any person who knows or suspects a case of gender violence.
