The Court of First Instance and Instruction number 2 of Melilla has ordered late this Tuesday the entry into prison of the four CPM detainees of the six arrested during that day in the Spanish city in North Africa - the other two were detained in the peninsula - for its alleged involvement in several irregularities when this formation held the City Government in coalition with PSOE and Eduardo de Castro (expelled from Ciudadanos) between 2019 and 2023.

The former counselors Dunia Almansouri, Rachid Bussián and Hassán Mohatar and the former vice counselor Yonaida Sel-lam were taken overnight to the Melilla Penitentiary Center, the latter with the possibility of being released with charges if they pay the bail that has been imposed.

The current second vice president of the Melilla Assembly and former Minister of Infrastructure, Urban Planning and Sports, Rachid Bussián, and the opposition deputy and former Minister of Finance, Employment and Commerce Dunia Almansouri, were brought to judicial custody on Tuesday afternoon after having They were arrested early in the day, as part of an operation against the previous main party of the Government of Melilla between 2019 and 2023, Coalition for Melilla (CPM) for alleged crimes of fraud in public procurement and embezzlement.

Also placed at the disposal of the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 2 of Melilla were the former Minister of the Environment Hassán Mohatar and the former Deputy Minister of Housing, Yonaida Se-lam, also former CPM deputies in the last legislature and who were not included in the electoral lists of their formation in the May 2023 elections.

These four positions of the coalition Executive that governed Melilla from June 2019 to May 2023, made up of CPM, PSOE and the president of the City Eduardo de Castro (expelled from Ciudadanos in April 2021, accused by his party of not communicating his accusation in an alleged case of corruption), are part of the six arrests made this Wednesday by the National Police in Granada and mainly in Melilla.

The fifth detainee is the president of the Coalition for Melilla (CPM), Mustafa Aberchán, who, according to Cadena Ser, was arrested in Santander, the city where he went for a training action in his capacity as a doctor.

The sixth detainee would be Mohamed Ahmed, former District Councilor, whose arrest took place in his current place of residence, Granada.

According to police sources, the crimes investigated are membership of a criminal organization or group, fraud in public procurement, administrative prevarication, influence peddling, document falsification and embezzlement of public funds, according to police sources.
