The TSJC rules out that there are formal errors in Borràs's sentence as his defense alleges

He criticized that the sentence did not have a number nor did it include the reduction of the sentences of the Prosecutor's Office for the other defendants

The Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) has dismissed the request for clarification presented by the defense of the president of Junts, Laura Borràs, considering that there are formal errors in the sentence that sentenced her to four and a half years in prison and 13 of disqualification for splitting contracts when he directed the Institution of Catalan Letters (ILC).

The first error that Borràs alleged is that the sentence did not have a number, only the date and the data of the procedure and, in an order consulted this Wednesday by Europa Press, the TSJC replies that the sentence number was notified to the parties in a proceeding the day after the verdict was published.

Borràs' defense also criticized that the sentence does not include the definitive conclusions of the parties, in which the Prosecutor's Office made "an important modification" by lowering its request for sentences for Isaías H. and Andreu P., also convicted in this case.

On this point, the court points out that the final request of the Prosecutor's Office is included in the case without "any disagreement or error."

Before the trial, the Prosecutor's Office initially requested six years in prison for Isaías H., beneficiary of the ILC contracts, but after an agreement with his defense and after he confessed at trial, the request was reduced to two years in prison. , which is what he has been sentenced to.

For Andreu P., who helped Isaías H. prepare budgets and also confessed, the prosecutors requested a sentence of three years in prison before the trial, which in their final conclusions reduced the request to one year and two months in prison, the the same sentence imposed by the court.
