The RSF claim to control 90 percent of the state of Khartoum (Sudan)

MADRID, 29 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have claimed control of 90 percent of Khartoum state, although the Sudanese Army has declared that these victories "focus only on houses and addresses" and that they have not even managed to keep the military bases.

"Today our forces received a large part of the coup soldiers who turned themselves in refusing to fight," the RSF said in a statement on Friday on its Twitter account.

The Sudanese army has fled "leaving behind rifles and military uniforms" after a series of failed attacks, the RSF said, accusing the government of violating the ceasefire and spreading "disinformation" to hide its defeat in Khartoum.

"Our forces have intensified their activities in the places they control to combat looting and robbery, as the campaigns, with the help of citizens, have resulted in the arrest of a large number of criminals," the RSF said.

They have also stated their intention to repair a water station, but shots from government forces prevented the work.

The RSF have reinforced their intention to maintain the humanitarian truce to meet the basic needs of their population and to evacuate foreigners, a truce that both sides have accused each other of breaching.
