The PSOE reduces the credibility of the 'Mediator' in the face of the accusations against Patxi López because "it leaves much to be desired"

MADRID, 27 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Minister for Education and Vocational Training, and spokesperson for the PSOE, Pilar Alegría, has avoided commenting on the accusation launched by Antonio Navarro, known as the 'Mediator' against the PSOE spokesman in Congress, Patxi López, of having been in the Ramsés restaurant, although at a different table, the same night that several businessmen involved dined with socialist deputies.

Thus, he has indicated that Navarro "leaves a lot to be desired" and therefore considers that he cannot pronounce on his words. However, he has defended that the PSOE acted with absolute transparency and forcefulness in this case, which triggered the expulsion from the party and the delivery of the parliamentary act of the former deputy Juan Bernardo Fuentes Curbelo.

The "Mediator case" investigates an alleged led by Fuentes Curbelo, Navarro Tacoronte and the Civil Guard division general, Francisco Espinosa Navas --currently in prison-- to collect bribes from businessmen in exchange for favors.

Navarro stated that Patxi López had dinner at the Ramsés restaurant at a table next to Fuentes Curbelo, and 15 other deputies on the night of October 21, 2020.

"I don't know if to the left or to the right, not at the same table, but it was there at the next table," said the Mediator, who assumed that the PSOE spokesman knew that the rest of the deputies were there. because "to go to the bathroom I had to go through there," as he indicated.

On March 7, the PSOE already closed the internal investigation into the 'Mediator' plot, finding only "five deputies" from the parliamentary group of the Lower House who "went to dinner at separate tables and respecting the curfew". .

At a press conference, López himself assured that there are not "15, nor 20 nor 30" deputies and that only "five went to dinner", and at "separate tables and respecting the curfew". "That's the only sin of the group," he then pointed out.

This Tuesday, in statements to the media from Ferraz, Alegría has insisted that there were people unfairly singled out and defamed for this matter, referring to several PSOE deputies, who have already filed complaints, as he has remarked.

Thus, he has indicated that these deputies were the object of insulting statements and accusations, and on this occasion, in reference to the accusation against Patxi López, the same thing occurs.
