The PP asks the Government to "imitate the transparency" of France to clarify the spying on Sánchez with Pegasus

MADRID, 23 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Popular Party has assured this Tuesday that the Government should "imitate the transparency" of France with the judicial authorities to clarify the espionage of the head of the Executive, Pedro Sánchez, with the Pegasus computer program, instead of "practicing opacity", according to training sources have indicated.

This is how the PP has spoken after the judge of the National Court José Luis Calama has agreed to reopen the case in which he investigated the infection carried out with Pegasus on the mobile devices of the President of the Government and the ministers Margarita Robles (Defense), Fernando Grande-Marlaska (Interior) and Luis Planas (Agriculture), after collecting new information from the French authorities.

The PP has said that it is "glad" that the National Court reopened the Pegasus case in light of the new data provided by France. "We hope that in this way it will be possible to find out who spied on the President of the Government, what information was stolen from him, to what extent national security was at risk and also to what extent the freedom of the Chief Executive in foreign policy has been compromised," they added. party sources.

According to the 'popular', it is "paradoxical that France has more interest in clarifying what happened than the Government of Spain itself." In his opinion, Sánchez's Executive has shown "total disinterest when it comes to resolving a very serious case."

"The Government should imitate the transparency and collaboration that France has had with the judicial authorities instead of practicing opacity on an issue that is relevant to the interests of our country," the same sources have pointed out.

What's more, the party led by Alberto Núñez Feijóo has stressed that the Government must now provide clarifications. "The explanations that the Government has refused to give to the PP, no matter how much we have demanded them, will have to be given now," the same sources concluded.
