The Polisario affirms that Sánchez's trip to Morocco demonstrates Spain's support for a "regime" that violates human rights

The Polisario Front delegate in Spain, Abdulah Arabi, stated this Wednesday that the trip to Marrakech (Morocco) of the acting President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, demonstrates "the indisputable support" of Spain "for a decadent regime that violates systematically, daily and with impunity the Human Rights of the people of Western Sahara".

"Although it has quickly been insisted on circumscribing this trip to the strictly private sphere -and even having this character- said election entails an enormous political content that goes far beyond the private sphere", he has sentenced in a statement.

Arabi has assured that the Moroccan press has echoed Sánchez's holiday destination, thus alluding to the "absolute support" of the Government of Spain "for the illegitimate claim maintained by Morocco regarding Western Sahara".

In this sense, he affirmed that the vacation destination of the acting President of the Government "is the only fact" in which Rabat can sustain itself in the face of "the difficult situation in which the Law constantly places it".

"For its part, throughout this year and a half, the unilaterality of Sánchez's radical turn with respect to Western Sahara, known in March 2022, has been confirmed in the political sphere. A position that was immediately rejected by Spanish civil society ", has added.

Thus, he has valued the "resounding success" of the 'Holidays in Peace' program, promoted by the Association of Friends of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic, which allows Saharawi children to spend a summer away from the hostility of the region .
