The PNV reaffirms to the King its rejection of Feijóo and sees it premature to talk about his vote in an investiture of Sánchez

MADRID, 21 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The PNV spokesman, Aitor Esteban, has transferred this Monday to the King that there is no option for his formation to support the investiture of the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, since it implies having Vox, with whom the nationalists declare themselves incompatible. Regarding the possibility that it is the socialist Pedro Sánchez who assumes the task, Esteban has already been remarking that it is too soon to anticipate his vote.

The hearing at the Palacio de la Zarzuela lasted an hour and, as in previous rounds of consultations, the PNV spokesman declined to appear at a press conference afterwards.

But Aitor Esteban has been making his position clear in recent days in different public appearances. If the designated one is Núñez Feijóo, the PNV has already warned that it will oppose it because the PP is not going alone, but they need Vox to overcome the vote and the nationalists do not want to be in the same equation as those of Santiago Abascal.

This same Monday, in an interview on Onda Vasca hours before traveling to Zarzuela, Aitor Esteban recalled that "publicly and privately", the PNV has made it clear so that there is no "doubt and speculation", that there is no "path" in form a majority for which Vox is needed, which he does not consider "a democratic party".

Regarding the second scenario, the possibility that the commission falls on the socialist Pedro Sánchez, the PNV believes that it is too early to anticipate his vote in this hypothetical investiture, especially since they have not yet received a call from the PSOE.

The PNV supported the PSOE at the Congress Table, but that does not determine its vote in an investiture session. According to Esteban, to think that due to the fact that the Socialists gathered an absolute majority in the constitutive session, the investiture can now be taken for granted "is saying a lot."

"There is still a lot of fabric to cut," he remarked last Thursday, stressing that, to overcome the investiture vote, the PSOE has to unite the vote of many different parties, and that takes time.
