The man cited by the Police for the Sánchez doll in Ferraz assures that he was limited to doing a favor for Revuelta

MADRID, 3 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The man cited this Wednesday by the National Police for his possible relationship with the protest during New Year's Eve at the PSOE headquarters in Ferraz in which a doll of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, was beaten, has assured upon his arrival at the police facilities that he limited himself to doing "a favor" to Revuelta, an organization in Vox's orbit.

This man, Antonio Martínez, briefly commented before entering the Moratalaz Complex - which he left half an hour later by car - that he had not organized the New Year's Eve protest in Ferraz. According to him, he limited himself to doing "a favor" to Revuelta, the organization in Vox's orbit, and this is what he did.

The National Police postponed from Tuesday, January 2 to this Wednesday - three days after the controversy - his statement taking at the Moratalaz Complex, where he had been summoned by agents of the Provincial Information Brigade of the Higher Police Headquarters. Madrid.

The summons was communicated hours after socialist officials and ministers denounced that the protest in Ferraz had included a piñata of President Pedro Sánchez, which was hung and beaten by several of the protesters. The PSOE assured that it was studying filing a complaint for a possible hate crime, which it has not yet formalized.

The concentration of "the grapes in Ferraz" brought together about 300 people, according to the Madrid Government Delegation. Sources from this institution have indicated that said protest was communicated by an individual, without specifying his name, since said communication did not indicate his connection with any entity or platform.

Revuelta, a youth organization in the orbit of Vox, announced the call on the social network X (formerly Twitter) more than three weeks ago and asked its followers to make "a donation to help organize the event." The message was accompanied by a link for fundraising, whose goal was 10,000 euros.

The person who organized the fundraiser identified himself as Antonio Martínez, as could be seen on the website, and did so on behalf of ASOMA Spain, although he did not include more details. This person is the same person who went to the Moratalaz police station this Wednesday.

In the statement of reasons for carrying out the collection, Antonio Martínez, who says he is 58 years old, praised Revuelta's "fervor and energy" to "unify ideals, convene without labels and unite around a common purpose." For him, the "grapes in Ferraz" initiative represented "unity, hope and the firm conviction that together, as a community, they can generate significant changes."

During the night of December 31, the protest was broadcast on Revuelta's YouTube channel and also from different profiles on social networks.

In addition to questioning the amnesty law, harsh criticism and insults were launched against the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and also against the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez Almeida. The latter was blamed for the Municipal Police prohibiting the access of a truck with screens that they wanted to use for New Year's Eve in Ferraz.

"Despite the systemic repression, whether it comes from the PSOE or the PP, we will not betray the Spanish people," said Revuelta during the night of December 31 on the social network street level", being broadcast live on its YouTube channel and on various profiles on social networks, from where insults were poured out, mainly against Pedro Sánchez and Almeida.

Revuelta has participated since the beginning of November in the daily protests in Ferraz following the proposed amnesty law agreed by the PSOE with the pro-independence parties, before the inauguration of Pedro Sánchez as President of the Government.

Leaders and officials of Vox, including its leader, Santiago Abascal, have supported and called to support the protests in front of the PSOE headquarters on Madrid's Ferraz street, where riots have been reported for several days. Although at first they were massive, they have been losing strength and attendees.

A few hours after the images of the piñata pretending to be President Pedro Sánchez were broadcast on New Year's Eve, several ministers asked the PP to condemn these events. PSOE sources have indicated that they are analyzing the videos of the broadcast of the farewell of the year on Ferraz Street to decide what legal actions to take.

The PSOE spokesperson in Congress, Patxi López, pointed out that these acts would be framed "within what is a hate crime" and gave as an example the debate that Congress will host on the decriminalization of insults to the Crown or the glorification of terrorism to advocate for "a serious debate" to know "where the limits of freedom of expression really are."

Patxi López has asked the Popular Party to stop saying "buts" and show in a very "forceful" way its "rejection" of the physical violence of the protesters in Ferraz. "Buts and buts are no longer valid for us, because the buts are justifications for the actions," he added.

The PP, for its part, responded that it does not "like" what happened at the rally called on New Year's Eve in front of the federal headquarters of the PSOE and reminded the socialists that the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has also been the target of attacks similar as the burning of "dolls" with their image.

Furthermore, from Genoa they have recalled that on New Year's Eve in Ferraz the mayor of Madrid, from the PP, was also insulted, and they have reproached the PSOE for being "outraged by a piñata with the face" of Sánchez but not finding it bad "at the level penal" for "burning photos of the King or the flag of Spain".
