King Felipe VI visited Princess Leonor by surprise last Friday while she was carrying out some maneuvers together with her colleagues from the General Military Academy as part of her military training, as reported this Monday by Zarzuela, who has published several images of the meeting.

In them you can see Don Felipe smiling with his daughter and several of her colleagues at the General Academy of Zaragoza, where he is already completing the second year of his military training.

The monarch traveled to the National Training Center of San Gregorio (Zaragoza) taking advantage of the fact that the 22nd company to which the Princess of Asturias belongs was going to carry out a tactical exercise in its premises.

Specifically, between March 11 and 16, they carried out exercises with a view to improving the skills necessary to command small military units, perfecting their preparation at the platoon level, as explained by Zarzuela.

Likewise, the Princess of Asturias and her companions also carried out topography activities through day and night tours, as well as combat training in urbanized areas, various individual shooting training exercises and activities aimed at physical strengthening, improving resistance to fatigue and leadership development as future officers.

In the images distributed by the King's House, Felipe VI is seen greeting the Princess of Asturias and her companions, equipped with uniforms and different military equipment such as a helmet and assault rifle, and also addressing a few words to the members of the security unit. the heir to the throne.

In addition to witnessing part of the exercise together with the general director of the Zaragoza Academy, Manuel Pérez-López, with whom he shared lunch along with other military commanders, Don Felipe sat with the Princess of Asturias and her companions, before finished their meal shift, and chatted with them animatedly, as can be seen in the images.

Last August, Princess Leonor began three years of military training at the Zaragoza Military Academy, since when she inherits the throne she is also called to be the captain general of the armies.

After a first year in Zaragoza, where the academic curriculum has been adapted to combine two years in one, the eldest daughter of the Kings will continue her journey at the Marín Naval School, in Pontevedra, where she will embark on the training ship Juan Sebastián Elcano .
