MADRID, 22 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The IU management advocates accepting Sumar's offer to grant them fourth place on the list to compete together in the European elections, as it is "the least bad of the scenarios", although the organization will reflect on its relationship with the project led by Yolanda Díaz and asks to run her own campaign for these elections.

This has been conveyed by the Secretary of Organization of the training, Ismael González, in view of the meeting of the Federal Coordinating Committee this afternoon, its highest executive body, where a final decision is expected to be made as to whether they attend together with Sumar to these elections.

All this after Sumar agreed on the positions of the list with its territorial allies. Thus, the commons will have number two, in the figure of Jaume Asens, while Compromís got third place. In turn, Más Madrid is ranked fifth on the list, highlighting its generosity despite admitting difficulties in negotiation.

In this sense, IU urged its regional federations to express their position and there is a disparity in criteria, given that Andalusia, Asturias or the Balearic Islands have shown themselves in favor of going in coalition with Sumar while Valencia and Madrid opt to reject fourth place. on that coalition list and appear even alone if his position is not improved.

During his appearance, González explained that in order not to hinder the development of the Basque elections, they have tried to carry out this deliberation with discretion and that the opinion of federations such as the Valencian one, which rejects the alliance with Sumar to the European ones, is legitimate.

"I'm going to be very clear. The federal management considered that among the scenarios that existed, the least bad one was to take fourth place," stressed the head of IU Organization.

However, he highlighted that IU is committed to running its own campaign for these elections and that in the State as a whole it will have to hold a debate on the relationship with Díaz's project. And a favorable moment, as he explained, is the training's congress event in May.

"Evidently there is a situation in the European elections, where there has been a process of drawing up a list without a democratic process in Sumar. It is logical that IU analyzes this situation and assesses how it has to relate to the rest of the political actors within the Sumar coalition. "added González, who for weeks demanded joint primaries to decide the candidacy positions in case there is no agreement between organizations.

Thus, he explained that Sumar has clarified some aspects of its proposal, which at the time they called "incomplete", but they are maintaining an exchange of documents with Díaz's project to close all the unknowns, with a view to the internal debate that they will maintain in the Federal Coordinator.

On the other hand, and questioned about whether IU has decided on the members it will have in the Sumar Coordination Council, the head of the federal Organization has explained that they were inclined to keep their representatives within the Sumar promoter group, but now they are evaluating whether they have to make changes in their representatives or directly "whether or not they go" to this body.

As a result of the debate raised within IU by the European elections, the Valencian federation demanded to stop participating in the organic structure of Sumar.

IU Madrid also defends rejecting Sumar's "unacceptable" offer for training, demanding a consultation with the militancy and even claims the option of going alone. In turn, he demands to suspend 'sine die' the relationship with Sumar until he clarifies the bilateral agreement he reached with Más Madrid and the place this leaves IU Madrid.

In this sense, it requests that Sumar immediately clarify its nature in the region and in the rest of the country, to clarify whether it is a party, a broad front or a mere electoral coalition. And explain if it is a federal or confederal project.
