MADRID, 28 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Government has informed that the maintenance of the tomb of the dictator Francisco Franco in the El Pardo-Mingorrubio cemetery supposes to the public coffers an annual expense of 9,225.9 euros for the security service, the management and the cleaning of the pantheon in the who is buried after his exhumation from the Valley of the Fallen. In monthly terms, the expense is 829.46 euros.

This has been explained by the Executive of Pedro Sánchez in a parliamentary response, to which Europa Press has had access, to the senator of Compromís, Carles Mulet, who asked to know the annual or monthly cost of maintaining Franco's pantheon.

In addition, the Valencian senator had asked the Government if it had raised with the dictator's relatives to deliver his mortal remains to be buried in family burial units and not of the State, something to which the Executive has avoided responding.

In any case, it has detailed the expenses generated by the State for the administration and maintenance of Franco's burial unit. What costs the most is the security of the pantheon, about 8,569.44 euros per year, which per month represents about 714.12 euros.

And the administration and management of the pantheon, which is entrusted to SEGIPSA, have an expense of 222.46 euros per year for the State, which is about 18.54 euros per month. In cleaning, the Government estimates non-recurring expenses of around 430 euros per year, which is equivalent to about 35.8 euros per month.

Of course, the cost of maintaining Franco's tomb has increased by more than 220 euros a year compared to 2021, when the Government also reported that the annual amount for the State was 9,000 euros. Now, in this parliamentary response dated April 27, 2023, the Executive of Pedro Sánchez has currently estimated this cost at 9,225 euros per year.
