The Government insists Feijóo accept the meeting with Sánchez and warns that the proposed dates are expiring

MADRID, 18 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Government insists on its request to the PP to accept one of the proposed dates to hold a meeting between the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez and the leader of the opposition, Alberto Núñez Feijóo and warn that the options offered to Génova are already expiring .

According to government sources, in Moncloa they still hope that the PP will accept and take place the meeting, although they emphasize that the ball is in the PP's court and that it is up to Feijóo whether the meeting ends up taking place.

Two weeks ago, Sánchez indicated that he intended to meet with Feijóo before the end of the year and announced that he wanted to propose three agreements: the renewal of the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ), whose mandate has expired for five years, the reform of the article 49 of the Constitution to eliminate the term 'disabled' from the text and the new regional financing model.

The PP was displeased to learn about the agenda of the meeting through the media and have requested that it be sent to them in writing, in order to be able to incorporate other topics into the meeting, a request that the Government has not accepted for the moment. In Moncloa they point out that Feijóo can raise any questions he deems appropriate at that meeting.

Just a week ago, last Monday, the President of the Government's Cabinet contacted Feijóo's and proposed three dates to hold that meeting, two before Christmas and one before the end of the year.

The first of those dates was this Monday, December 18 and therefore, the Government warns the 'popular' that the proposed dates are passing and they do not understand that the PP does not respond and has not yet accepted the meeting.
