Telefónica calls the ninth edition of 'HackForGood' in 25 universities and 16 Spanish cities

Telefónica has called the ninth edition of 'HackForGood', a hackathon - a meeting of programmers to respond to a specific challenge - which will be held from March 14 to 16 in 16 Spanish cities and in which students from 25 are called to participate. universities in the country, as reported by the company in a statement.

The hackathon will be organized by the Telefónica Chairs Network, the Polytechnic University of Madrid and the Hazloposible Foundation and the challenge that the participants will have to respond to will be linked to sustainability.

In fact, it is expected that around 1,000 students from different disciplines will participate in the meeting to create technological solutions with a social purpose and the objective of "building a more sustainable, inclusive and digital environment."

The 2024 edition of 'HackForGood' will be part of the celebration of Telefónica's centennial and around 50,000 euros in prizes will be distributed.

"One of the biggest attractions of 'HackForGood', in addition to the number of participants, is that it has three levels of competition: local (winners at each venue), national (national winners) and a final one, which is held months later, in in which the three national winning teams and the first winning team from each headquarters or city compete," the company explained.

In that sense, to participate in the hackathon it is necessary to be of legal age and belong to one of the participating universities, or be a student of 'Campus 42', of the Telefónica Foundation.
