The inland provincial capitals such as Logroño, Huesca and Ávila, and winter destinations such as Vielha and Formigal are among the 10 tourist places with the highest growth in searches on Airbnb for the Easter holidays. At an international level, Andorra, one of the most popular destinations in the Pyrenees, is becoming one of the favorite places among Spaniards to take advantage of the last days of cold and snow.

After an atypical winter due to high temperatures, the Spaniards seem to miss the cold and this year they have exchanged the sun and the beach for the countryside and the mountains for the Easter holidays.

On the Airbnb platform, the categories 'In the countryside' and 'Cabins' are the first and third most searched for these dates, while 'On the beach' and 'Beaches - which usually occupy the first positions - are in second and fifth place, respectively.

In 2024, the most popular searches among Spaniards on Airbnb are for mountain destinations, ski resorts and rural environments in the interior of Spain.

The provincial capitals of the interior, such as Logroño, Huesca and Ávila, as well as areas with winter leisure centers such as Vielha and Formigal, are among the ten trending national destinations for Easter.

In turn, Andorra, one of the most popular ski destinations in the Pyrenees, is the international destination that has experienced the greatest growth in searches for Easter, which highlights the desire of Spaniards to enjoy themselves until the end of the season winter in this season.

Inland and rural destinations have become increasingly popular in the last two years, thanks to the flexibility that remote working offers. Teleworking is allowing travelers to enjoy longer rural stays with their family, according to Airbnb.

Thus, the nights reserved by Spanish travelers for stays in national destinations far from cities have grown by more than 70% in recent months.

During the Easter season, around 30% of searches made by guests were for family trips. Furthermore, thanks to the flexibility offered by remote work, stays of between 2 and 6 days experienced a growth of 44% on these dates.

During Easter getaways, Spaniards not only look for national destinations, but also find a good excuse to travel abroad. Among the most popular international ones, Andorra is in first place, followed by Istanbul in Turkey, Bologna in Italy and Warsaw in Poland.

And in the United Arab Emirates, Dubai, known for its summer climate in winter, is also among the top five international places that are a trend among Spaniards to travel to during this season.

These data reflect, according to the accommodation platform, the desire of Spanish travelers to discover "new horizons" and enjoy "unique experiences" during their next Easter holidays.
