The general secretary of the PSOE and acting president, Pedro Sánchez, has responded this Sunday to the letter sent by the leader of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, in which he has declined the request of the 'popular' to meet this week to avoid the "blockade" and "ungovernability" in Spain and has summoned him to meet after August 17, as well as with the rest of the spokesmen for the parliamentary groups, once the Parliament has been constituted and the candidate proposed by the Head of Parliament has been designated. State, according to the PSOE letter consulted by Europa Press.

In the letter, Sánchez thanks the opposition leader for the opportunity to resume communication between the two forces and takes the opportunity to reproach him for interrupting it "abruptly and unilaterally with the rupture of the preliminary agreement for the renewal of the General Council of the Judiciary ( CGPJ)", despite the fact that, as he continues, there are "more agile means for dialogue than epistolary dialogue".

Thus, Sánchez has alluded to the Constitution, which is "diaphanous", specifically to article 99, in reference to the formation of parliamentary majorities. "Our democratic system has clear rules for the configuration of the Government of the nation. These rules are adjusted to the principles of parliamentary democracy that establishes in the sphere of the Congress of Deputies the space in which the majorities that allow the investiture must articulate of the candidate who obtains the necessary support", states the letter.

In line, the acting president recalled that this basic principle has been applied by the Popular Party "every time it has allowed it to reach the presidency of regional governments and mayoralties despite not being the force with the most votes, nor the one that had greater number of seats.

Likewise, he has criticized his pacts in some autonomous communities with Vox, "governments that are adopting measures that imply disturbing setbacks in matters as important as social dialogue, equality, diversity or the environment," he maintains.

That said, Sánchez has summoned Feijóo to meet after August 17, the date on which the Cortes are constituted. "Once the candidate proposed by the Head of State has been designated, I will be delighted to meet with you, as well as with the rest of the spokespersons of the parliamentary groups with representation in the Chamber," he launched.
