Sánchez continues his Moroccan vacation in Tangier and will also visit Chefchaouen and Tetouan, according to local media

MADRID, 4 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The acting President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, traveled to Tangier from Marrakech this Thursday to continue his vacations with his family and in the coming days he will also visit the cities of Chefchaouen and Tetouan, according to local media.

Sánchez arrived in Morocco last Tuesday to spend a few days off after the general elections on July 23. The choice of destination has motivated criticism from the PP, Vox and also from Podemos.

The Moroccan newspaper Le360 has reported that the socialist leader left Marrakech this Thursday to continue his journey in Tangier, where he is staying with his family at the Mirage hotel in Ashkar, near the Hercules Cave.

There, according to the local media, citing "private" sources, the acting president met "with a series of Moroccan and Spanish officials who greeted his arrival."

Sánchez is expected to stay in Tangier for two days, during which he will visit the ancient city and tour its most important historical monuments, and then continue his Moroccan vacation in the cities of Chefchaouen and Tetouan, from where he will return to Spain.

Socialist sources stressed that it is a "strictly private" trip and that, in fact, the president has not used the Falcon reserved for the authorities, but has traveled with a commercial line.

In previous years, his vacations were focused on the official residence of La Mareta, on the island of Lanzarote, which was given as a gift by King Hussein to Juan Carlos I in 1989, who ceded it to National Heritage.
