He says that the leader of the PP defends one thing in public and another in private: "It's called hypocrisy"

MADRID, 15 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The President of the Government and Secretary General of the PSOE, Pedro Sánchez, has accused the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo of "negotiating amnesties and pardons" with the independentists at the same time that they held demonstrations against them and called them "terrorists", according to has stated.

"In the morning negotiating amnesties and pardons with the independentists and in the afternoons demonstrating against those independentists and calling them terrorists," Sánchez launched at a campaign rally in La Coruña, prior to the Galician elections that will be held this Sunday the 18th. of February.

In this way, Sánchez has attacked Feijóo after last weekend's revelations that indicated that the 'popular' leader is open to a conditional pardon for former Catalan president Carles Puigemont, who considered amnesty for 24 hours after meeting with Junts and that it is not clear to him that he will be charged with the crime of terrorism.

Sánchez, who was speaking on this matter for the first time, has attacked Feijóo by pointing out that "in politics, as in life, when someone in private says one thing and in public says the opposite, it is called hypocrisy."

In this way, he has rejected the repeated criticism launched by the PP against him and the PSOE for agreeing on an amnesty law with the pro-independence forces in exchange for his investiture and has reiterated that the situation in Catalonia today is much better than in 2017 with the procès. . "If Feijóo even recognizes it, even if it is in private, at a meal with journalists," he has made himself ugly again.

Along the same lines, he says that the bad thing is not that Feijóo has "amended himself" but the "hatred" that in his opinion he has "shed on the entire Spanish population in the last five months", since the PSOE agreed to the amnesty with Junts. and CKD.

In this way, Sánchez blames Feijóo for the rallies against the national headquarters of the PSOE on Ferraz Street and the demonstrations against the amnesty. "What he has recognized privately is that those insults, those sieges of the town's houses, those calls to take to the streets, those chest blows were pure posturing," he remarked.

Therefore, he has asked the leader of the PP to "apologize for the hatred and lies spread in the last five months" and also considers that the PP is now admitting that the socialists' strategy towards Catalonia is correct.

"Welcome to common sense, because the territorial crisis is effectively resolved through reconciliation and not confrontation, as we socialists have defended from the first minute at the head of the Spanish government," he claimed.

Finally, the President of the Government has maintained that the PP's 'no' to pardons and amnesty is "a smokescreen" to be able to oppose the measures that the socialists are implementing from La Moncloa, such as the revaluation of pensions with the CPI or the increase in the minimum wage.
