Russia sees the shipment of cluster bombs to Ukraine as another US provocation that brings another world war closer

Antonov assures that this decision will not hinder "the special military operation" to end "security threats" for Russia

MADRID, 8 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Russia's ambassador to the United States, Anatoli Antonov, considers the decision to send cluster bombs to Ukraine another US provocation that "brings humanity closer to a new world war."

Antonov has described the action of the United States as a "gesture of desperation" which, in his opinion, shows that the North American country "and its satellites have realized their impotence."

In this sense, the representative of Russia has denounced "the brutality and cynicism" with which the US authorities have addressed "the issue of the delivery of lethal weapons to Kiev."

The Russian ambassador has pointed out, in statements to the media, that "American provocations are really off the scale" and that Washington is "so obsessed with the idea of defeating Russia that it does not realize the seriousness of its actions." ".

The interference of the Western power "only causes more casualties and prolongs the agony of the kyiv regime," reads a statement shared on the Telegram channel of the Russian Embassy.

From Russia they have also denounced that the United States "has ignored the negative opinions of its allies about the dangers of the indiscriminate use of cluster munitions", in the same way that it has turned "a blind eye to civilian casualties".

However, Antonov has assured that "bombarding the republic with Western weapons will in no way stand in the way of the objectives of the special military operation aimed at eradicating security threats from the Russian Federation, including Nazism fueled in Ukraine."
