Rovira (ERC) affirms that the PP proposed to them to agree on an investiture of Feijóo and they declined

He defends that they have nothing in common, since they are the ones who promoted the "criminal" way of debate.

The general secretary of ERC, Marta Rovira, has stated that the PP proposed to the Republicans to agree in the Congress of Deputies on an investiture of the then popular candidate, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, but they declined.

"After the Spanish elections, a deputy from the Congress of Deputies came to propose that we speak. A deputy named Carlos Floriano addressed Teresa Jordà," he explained in an interview this Tuesday in Ser Catalunya collected by Europa Press.

"They wanted to form a majority and we responded that we did not speak with the PP and that no. Thank you, but no," since from ERC they understood that there was only the possibility of forming a progressive bloc in the Lower House.

In this sense, he reported that the Republicans continued to "make possible what exists today, which is this political majority that works from a social point of view", in reference to the bloc that allowed the investiture of the then PSOE candidate and now president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez.

Likewise, he has criticized that the PP is the party that "in 2016 and 2017, not only does it not offer dialogue, but also promotes that the path of political debate be criminal" and the party that, according to Rovira, fuels the Prosecutor's Office accuse the independentistas of rebellion, then of sedition and now of terrorism.

"This is the PP. What do we have in common with the PP? We have nothing in common with the PP," said the general secretary of ERC, who has also accused the popular party of appearing in all the regional elections by making speeches. against Catalonia and the Catalans, in his words.

When asked why Junts met with the PP after the general elections of July 23, he indicated that this is something that the post-convergents have to explain: "What Junts does, I think Junts should explain."

For his part, he has maintained that ERC must be able to explain with transparency the political relationships they maintain in order to be able to work on possible agreements with "transparency and coherence."
