Reyes Maroto defends the Housing Law and applauds the Government's policies against the "denialism" of PP and Vox

VALENCIA, 15 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The PSOE candidate for Alcaldía de Madrid, Reyes Maroto, defended this Saturday the new Ley de Vivienda, which she considers to be part of the policies of a coalition government that "knows how to understand people's problems" in the face of "passivism and denialism" by PP and Vox.

This was expressed in statements to the media upon his arrival at the PSOE Municipal Convention in Valencia, where he recalled that, precisely, housing is "the main problem" for citizens in Madrid.

"To oppose this law is to oppose improving the quality of life of the people of Madrid. I don't know how the PP is going to explain that this law is not good and does not have to be developed," Reyes Maroto questioned in this regard.

Likewise, he has criticized the PP for "doing individual politics" and using it "in a partisan way", while he has assured that the PSOE is there to "work for the people".

In this sense, he has stressed that he arrives in Madrid with the intention of carrying out a "different policy" from the one that currently exists in the city, "where confrontation is the norm." "I think that in Madrid things have been done very badly. There is a lost legislature and my leadership, my way of working, my way of doing politics, I think it can excite many people from Madrid," he added.

Regarding the PP candidate for mayor of the capital and current mayor, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, he has urged the people of Madrid to "open their eyes": "That they realize the lies, the things that he was going to do and not has done. It has no city project".

Finally, he has referred to Madrid as "a wonderful city" that has "to project itself to the world as the best city", and has expressed his fear that the right-wing will come to govern in the capital, where the entry of Vox would be " a return to the policies of the past".
