Putin dismisses Russian ambassadors in Latvia and Estonia

MADRID, 31 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this Friday the dismissal of the Russian ambassadors in Latvia and Estonia, Mikhail Vanin and Vladimir Lipaev, respectively, according to separate decrees, which do not specify the reasons for this decision.

The short decrees, published on the official page of Russia's legal information portal, order "to remove Vladimir Lipaev from the post of Russian ambassador to Estonia" and "to remove Mikhail Vanin from the post of Russian ambassador to Latvia."

Lipaev left Estonia in early February after Russia downgraded bilateral relations with Tallinn in response to the expulsion of diplomats in response to the invasion of Ukraine. Latvia also stated that it was lowering the level of diplomatic relations with Moscow.
