Puente, to Ayuso: "Focus on building Metro lines without demolishing houses that the Government is already dealing with Cercanías"

MADRID, 10 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente, has responded to the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, who on December 5, after a train derailment at Atocha station, accused the President of the Government , Pedro Sánchez, of "concern for the Cercanías".

"Calm down President. Focus on building metro lines without demolishing anyone's houses, since the Government of Spain is already taking care of the problems that the Madrid commuter network has," Puente responded this Sunday in his 'X' profile. .

The railway network in Madrid has suffered three mishaps in the last 15 days. Specifically, the last one occurred this Friday at dawn when Cercanías was cutting the Recoletos tunnel after a new derailment of a train at its entrance in Atocha, the third in less than 15 days. In the afternoon of the same day, the service was suspended again, this time to carry out planned tests on the behavior of the trains on this track.

This situation has aroused criticism from the Madrid City Council of Puente, who has been asked to "take the reins" of the problems in the region's Cercanías network. "It is happening more and more frequently, with less and less time separating one incident from another. Until now, fortunately, nothing really serious has happened, other than the great inconvenience of citizens, which is enough," said this Friday the delegate of Culture, Tourism and Sports, Marta Rivera de la Cruz.

In addition, the minister has been criticized for having blocked the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, and several members of the Madrid City Council and the Community of Madrid on his X account, such as the delegate of Urban Planning, the Environment and Mobility, Borja Carabante, the general secretary of the PP of Madrid, Alfonso Serrano, and the party's account in the Community of Madrid.

In this regard, Carabante criticized these events this Saturday and assured that despite this they will continue "to denounce the risk posed by derailments on Cercanías."

To this, Óscar Puente has responded on the same social network by publishing a column written by Carlos Alsina in which he analyzes the reason for blocking this social network. "Just because you are a councilor, advisor or president does not exclude you from belonging to any of the categories mentioned in it. Twitter is not life. On Twitter you choose company," he launched.
