PP justifies Armengol's resignation in its letter citing facts that associate it with a "very serious case of corruption"

MADRID, 3 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Popular Party has published this Sunday the document that it will present tomorrow in the Congress of Deputies calling for the resignation of the president of the Lower House, Francina Armengol, due to the 'Koldo case' in which it lists the facts that relate her to a " "very serious cause of corruption" during the pandemic and which, according to the formation, joins "other scandals that he was involved in" during his mandate in the Balearic Government.

In that document that the spokesperson for the Popular Group in Congress, Miguel Tellado, announced this Sunday that he will present on Monday in the Lower House, the PP states in points a "factual account that is difficult to justify" by Armengol.

Thus, the PP recalls that as president of the Government it acquired masks from the company 'Management Solutions and Business Support', a company "nuclear of the corrupt plot" and accelerating the payment despite the National Center for Protection Means (CNMP) issued a report concluding that the masks did not meet requirements. Even so, the masks were stored and were never used and the complaint proposal report was issued once she no longer held the position of president and Marga Prohens was invested.

Among other points, the group led by Alberto Núñez Feijóo has denounced other information about the case published by the media that "relates it to a very serious case of corruption during the pandemic and joins other scandals in which she was involved as president of the Balearic Islands. ", among which he cites the abuse of warded minors who were prostituted under the custody of the Consell de Mallorca and which, according to the PP, Armengol "refused to investigate."

In this sense, the Popular Party has highlighted in the letter that her actions as president of the Balearic Government "are being investigated by the Civil Guard, the investigating judge of the case and even by the European Prosecutor's Office, given the possible fraudulent use of European Funds. ".

For all these reasons, the 'popular', addressing the president of the Lower House, have asked her to resign to "ensure the decorum" of the same and "safeguard the prestige of the Institution."

"His attitude at the head of the Chamber is very reprehensible, but at this moment what is in question is the lack of exemplary behavior in his actions at the head of a public administration during the pandemic," the document cites, also considering that his permanence in front of to Congress is "unsustainable" and they "disqualify" it from continuing as the third authority of the State.
