Podemos will have the Mixed vote in the Congressional Deputation and will be key to approving Government appearances

The purple ones will also be decisive in ten other commissions, especially if any pro-independence formation abstains.

MADRID, 21 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The general secretary of Podemos, Ione Belarra, has been appointed as representative of the Mixed Group in the Permanent Deputation of Congress after the departure of the purple formation of the Sumar coalition and her vote will be key when approving extraordinary appearances of members of the Government .

Specifically, the Permanent Deputation, the body that replaces the Plenary Session in non-ordinary periods of sessions, is made up of 69 members, including the president of the Lower House, Francina Armengol. The distribution of seats is carried out between the nine groups based on the weight of each one in the Plenary.

During this legislature the distribution in the body is 27 for the PP, 25 for the PSOE, six for Vox, another six for Sumar, and one for each remaining group (ERC, Junts, Bildu, PNV and Mixto).

Initially the Mixto position was assigned to the BNG deputy, Nestor Rego, but with the landing of the purple formation it has passed into the hands of its general secretary and former Minister of Social Rights, Ione Belarra.

Taking into account that the absolute majority stands at 35 deputies and that PP and Vox already have 33 votes, the position of Podemos, which last week overturned a decree law of the coalition Government, will be decisive in the Permanent Deputation, especially when deciding appearances by members of the Government in extraordinary periods (summer and January).

The entry of Podemos into the Mixed Group last December has forced us to reorganize the distribution of spokespersons in commission that had been agreed upon by the BNG, CC and UPN, the original tenants. The purple ones have won the Mixed vote in ten of the 32 commissions of Congress, apart from the mixed commissions that are shared with the Senate and in which the sum of PP and Vox already reaches the absolute majority.

Specifically, the commissions that Podemos has chosen for its spokespersons have been the Foreign Affairs, Justice, Social Rights, Agriculture, Housing, Health, Science, Equality and the commission to monitor the agreements of the State Pact on Gender Violence. .

As in the Permanent Deputation, with this change the formation of Belarra will be decisive when it comes to approving amendments and carrying out laws and non-law proposals (PNL), especially if any of the Government's pro-independence partners opt for the abstention or vote against.

The consequences of this new political map in Congress will be seen at the end of this month of January, when the first meeting of the Permanent Deputation is scheduled to decide appearances, and starting in February, when initiatives begin to be voted on in parliamentary commissions.
