Podemos affirms that a "feminist monarchy" is not possible in the figure of Leonor: the crown is contrary to equality

The co-spokesperson for Podemos, Isa Serra, has assured that there is no possibility of thinking of a "feminist monarchy" in the figure of Princess Leonor, since the institution is contrary to the equality values ​​of this movement.

"It is evident that the monarchical institution, the monarchy, as a political regime is contrary to the values ​​of feminism," he stated during a discussion table within the framework of the 'Spring Festival' of the formation, precisely centered on the crown and the republic.

Serra has proclaimed that "feminism is republican" and is a social movement that wants equality, when precisely the monarchy "is the opposite of equality, the opposite of everyone being equal"

"I believe that there is no possibility of thinking of a feminist monarchy that is, in fact, what, given the situation that we are experiencing in our country with the force of feminism, some elites may want to propose around the figure of Leonor and as an exit from we are going to renew and make this institution more feminist. I do not think that this is not possible, "he launched.

He has also called for thinking about what values ​​the monarchy transmits in the country, given that the crown is made up of a "Catholic family."

On the other hand, he has affirmed that the monarchical institution is in a "crisis of legitimacy", since in his opinion it represents only the right and the economic elites of the country.
