Piqué announces his retirement: "This Saturday will be my last game at the Camp Nou"

MADRID, 3 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The central defender of FC Barcelona Gerard Piqué announced this Thursday by surprise his retirement from football, after "months" listening to people talk about him, once his dream of being a culé player had been fulfilled, and he revealed that "this Saturday" will be his " last match at the Camp Nou".

"A lot of people have been talking about me for weeks, months. Now I'm going to talk about it. From a very young age I didn't want to be a footballer, I wanted to be a Barça player. It's the moment that I've decided to close the circle, now that the dreams have fulfilled", he says in a video posted on his social networks with different images of his life.

"I have always said that after Barça there would be no other team. This Saturday will be my last game at the Camp Nou," adds Piqué, who sends the message that "sooner or later" he will return, after a Barça career that began 25 years old and that led him to be champion of everything and play "with the best in the world".
