Otegi asks for Bildu the general deputation of Guipúzcoa and the mayors of Vitoria and Pamplona

SAN SEBASTIAN, 29 May. (EUROPE PRESS) -

The general coordinator of EH Bildu, Arnaldo Otegi, has assured that he does not contemplate any other possibility than that of Maddalen Iriarte being the new deputy general of Guipúzcoa, Rocío Vitero the mayoress of Vitoria-Gasteiz and Joseba Asiron, that of Pamplona and, "if something else happens, they will have to explain it".

In an appearance in San Sebastián to analyze the electoral results, the Abertzale leader has assured that it was a "magical night" and has assured that "the change of cycle is a change that has already begun in our country."

Otegi has indicated that EH Bildu is willing "to lead the political change in the country, together with others" and has defended that there are problems and challenges that "continue to be there" and require "minimum programs and broad alliances". In this sense, he has shown EH Bildu's willingness to agree with "the broadest sectors that exist in the country", except with the exception of "the Spanish right".

Given the intention of the PNV to present Eider Mendoza to be eligible to be the general deputy of Guipúzcoa, the leader of EH Bildu has affirmed that they have "all the possibilities in the world" for their candidate Maialen Iriarte to be the future deputy general because "she has won the elections in Guipúzcoa and they have 22 junteros and the PNV has taken 17".

"All the possibilities that Maialen Iriarte is the general deputy because Guipúzcoa has decided that it is. I do not know if there is any other parliamentary arithmetic that someone wants to do, if they do it, they will have to explain it but Guipuzkoa has clearly said that Maialen Iriarte is our deputy general", pointed out Otegi, who believes that it is "good and healthy to have a certain democratic sportsmanship in these circumstances".

Otegi has insisted that "it is clear" that the deputy general of Guipúzcoa "has to be Maialen Iriarte, the mayoress of Vitoria-Gasteiz, Rocío Vitero, and Joseba Asiron from Pamplona". As he has indicated, "they do not contemplate anything else" and, if it happens, "they will have to explain it."
