The Vice President and Minister of Education and Universities of the Community, Enrique Ossorio, has defended that he benefits from the thermal social bonus because he is a large family, one of the requirements established by the Government of Pedro Sánchez.

"I think it is perfectly ethical to benefit from this aid as I do from all the aid that there is for large families. If anyone is envious of large families for these resources, I invite them to be a large family that does very well for Spain", he has transferred.

This has been pronounced when asked by journalists about the information from 'InfoLibre' which indicates that he was a beneficiary in 2022 of the thermal social bonus for heating and hot water, which is intended to "alleviate energy poverty in the most vulnerable consumers".

In the press conference after the Governing Council, which was held in an extraordinary way in Collado Villalba, Ossorio stressed that he belongs to a large family and has "four children." "I receive the aid that exists for this type of family," he pointed out below.

In this sense, he stressed that "within these aids is the electric social bonus and now the thermal social bonus, which is 192 a year." The vice president explained that the royal decree law that regulates the latter "is established by the State, Pedro Sánchez, in favor of vulnerable families and all large families."

"I belong to that group. This is money from Pedro Sánchez, it is money from the Government of Pedro Sánchez, what the autonomous communities do is distribute it among the beneficiaries. They are the ones who should receive it and they have said that all large families and I Therefore, as long as we continue to be so, I will receive and accept all the aid that they give in favor of large families," he declared.

Cross-examined about the possibility that the husband of the Más Madrid spokesperson in the Assembly, Mónica García, was also a beneficiary, Ossorio believes that it is "false" because he would not understand how it is that for the same reason he has asked for his resignation and has said that his attitude is "indecent" and "disgraceful".

"I believe that there is no greater hypocrisy than to say that about a person when you yourself are benefiting. I, I insist, hope that this is false, that this is not a reality, because if that is true today I would have to resign. No he would have to resign for having collected it, because he is a large family, like me, he would have to resign because he has no limits to deceive the citizens", he has sentenced.

"If they were only social aid as such or were to the detriment of other people, that is, you collect a scholarship and you are deducting it from a family that needs it more, yes, it can be, but it is not the same. This is not You take it away from nobody and because the conditions are not just an economic issue. It is called social but it is not only for vulnerable people", the president of the Community declared when asked about the same thing.
