The president of the parliament departs from the poster in the concentration for the murder of Antella amid criticism from the opposition

VALENCIA, July 10 (EUROPA PRESS) -

Les Corts Valencianes have expressed their pain this Monday for the murder of a woman in Antella (Valencia) allegedly at the hands of her partner with a concentration in which the banner has been shown in which the sexist violence is rejected and which is Vox deputies have once again unmarked, including the new president of the autonomous chamber, Llanos Massó.

The act has been carried out after a call from Massó herself in which one could read: "Following the indications of the Presidency of the Corts Valencianes, a concentration of 3 minutes of silence is called in front of the Palau dels Borja, today July 10, at 12:00, to condemn the murder of a woman that happened in Antella this weekend".

At twelve o'clock in the afternoon, the representatives of the various groups gathered at the gates of Les Corts, but while the deputies of the PP, the PSPV and Compromís did so under the slogan 'Les Corts against male violence' (Les Corts against macho violence)', those of Vox have been placed aside, which has generated criticism from the PSPV and Compromís.

The acting vice president and deputy spokesperson for Compromís, Aitana Mas, has considered it "incomprehensible" that "an institutional and non-political position that represents the entire institution" and is "the second most important person in the entire Valencian Community" remains at the margin "for not putting himself where the social majority is". In this sense, she has expressed her wish to "rectify in the future".

Mas has stressed that there is a "social consensus" regarding the rejection of gender violence and has highlighted the importance that the highest representatives of the Consell "also understand that gender violence is fought from the institutions."

Meanwhile, the PSPV has demanded in writing that Massó comply with the pact against gender violence "without nuances" and that when "the minutes of silence are called, it should be stated in the call that it is to condemn a case of sexist violence."

The trustee, Rebeca Torró, has criticized that "it has been decided to call a protest rally without specifying that the murder of a woman in Antella is a case of gender violence." Socialist sources have indicated that the message conveyed from the Presidency is that the concentration had been called "to condemn the murder of a woman that occurred in Antella this weekend."

In this sense, the socialist spokesperson has pointed out that "gender violence is a scourge that we must fight together" and has lamented that "the denialist discourse is the one that prevails in the Valencian parliament". In addition, she has stressed that "one thing that is not recognized cannot be fought."

VOX: "IT IS AN OVERCOMED SUBJECT"

On the part of Vox, the trustee, Ana Vega, has considered that the fact that they position themselves next to the banner "is an issue that has already been overcome" because they have done so for the last four years and has remarked that they consider that "all Violence against any person must be condemned in the same way".

In this sense, he has stressed that they respect these minutes of silence and that they are going to attend, but they will not be on the banner as long as it refers to sexist violence and not to violence of any kind. "All kinds of violence must be condemned in the same way and energetically," she stressed.

In this sense, he has indicated that "being behind a banner or not does not imply that one thing or another is condemned with greater perseverance" and has insisted on his condemnation of violence "be it exercised against whomever it is exercised".

Asked if they will seek to change the motto on the banner, Vega has indicated that this corresponds to the Mesa de Les Corts and has indicated that they have been "working to protect all victims equally" for four years.

PP, "OUTRAGED" BY THE EFFECTS OF THE LAW YES IS YES

For his part, the PP Ombudsman, Miguel Barrachina, has pointed out that "beyond the symbolism", this is the second Valencian woman murdered this year in a sexist crime and has stressed that the attacks have multiplied by two. "The solution cannot be the mass release of offenders," she lamented, referring to the effects of the Only Yes is Yes Law.

Asked about Llanos's position, Barrachina stressed that "today the whole world was denouncing the vile and cruel murder of this woman" and indicated that the PP is always "behind all the banners denouncing sexist crimes."

However, he has stressed that he finds it "horrendous" that the "real policy" in this matter of the Government is "release" and has been "deeply indignant" because the murderer of this woman "can be applied the law of Yes is if".

"The content of all these banners pales if the aggressors continue to leave jail," he pointed out, and has asserted that up to 4,000 sentences could be reviewed and reduced "thanks to agreements of the PSOE and Compromís that allow it."

The tragic event occurred this Sunday, when a 53-year-old man killed his 38-year-old wife in the family home located in the Valencian town of Antella, in front of his 12-year-old son. Subsequently, the man committed suicide, the Civil Guard reported.
