MADRID, 12 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli died this Friday in Florence at the age of 83 after a long illness due to which his health had worsened in recent weeks, according to 'La Reppublica'.

Cavalli began to dedicate himself to fashion from a very young age and in 1970 he created his own brand that stood out for its creativity and had a great impact on the most prestigious catwalks in the world. The designer made great use of fur and embroidery and stood out for his long dresses, with transparencies and showy necklines that have marked international fashion for a long time. The designer sold the brand in 2015 when he retired into private life.

In addition, he was the founder of a young line, Just Cavalli in 1998 and of the Roberto Cavalli Home division, which was presented at the Salone del Mobile in 2012.

Roberto Cavalli was born in Florence and leaves behind six children, one of them only one year old, and his partner of the last 15 years, Sandra Nilsson.
