Illa (PSC) rejects repeating elections and believes that a majority will be articulated in favor of "moving forward"

"Catalonia has said no to a right-wing government, and yes to a plural and diverse Spain," he says

BARCELONA, July 30. (EUROPEAN PRESS) -

The first secretary of the PSC, Salvador Illa, has refused to repeat the general elections, considering that they are not positive for anyone, and believes that "there will be enough maturity in the different political actors to find the possible articulation of this plural and diverse majority in favor of , in the case of Catalonia, of coexistence, dialogue and progress".

In an interview in the newspaper 'La Vanguardia' collected this Sunday by Europa Press, he has ruled out a PSOE-PP government: "It is ruled out. From my point of view it is not appropriate."

Asked if he sees options in agreement with Junts with the request for amnesty and referendum, he replied that "Catalonia has said no to a right-wing government, and yes to a plural and diverse Spain", but he added that there is a framework of coexistence that sets rules of the game that must be respected within the rule of law.

"With this very majority vote for Sánchez and his policies, coexistence, dialogue and concord have been voted for. This has been expressed forcefully and clearly in Catalonia. This is the path that Catalan society asks us to continue advancing ", has added.

For this reason, the first secretary of the PSC has added that Junts, ERC and comunes, which "are very important parties on the Catalan scene" together with the PSC, must carry out an exercise in dialogue and understanding.

Asked if he would like Junts to join Barcelona City Council, he replied that the decision rests with Mayor Jaume Collboni.

He has ruled out presenting a motion of censure to the Government of Pere Aragonès and, asked about an electoral advance in Catalonia, he has replied that the legislature has certain times and that he is in favor of respecting them.

"It seems to us that things are not being done as well as they should be, but President Aragonès says that he sees himself with the ability to continue, in the times we are in it would be better to have a Government with more parliamentary and more stable support, so the PSC will continue building and thinking about Catalonia", he added.

On whether he will agree on the Generalitat Budgets with ERC again, he explained that there is a will to execute it and that his party does not want to block them: "We will see how things go and there will be time to talk about the next year at the end of the year. Our attitude It is about building an alternative with a willingness to help, but never to block".
