He defends the 'only yes is yes' reform because it produced "effects that were not the ones wanted"

BARCELONA, 23 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Minister of Culture and Sports, Miquel Iceta, wished this Sunday that the relationship between Unidas Podemos and Sumar culminate in a great agreement because "it is what people on the left expect."

In statements in Barcelona for Sant Jordi, he hoped that "it will be a debate that culminates in great coordination and great unity".

He has defended the reform of the 'only yes is yes' law, promoted by the PSOE and negotiated with the PP without the support of Unidas Podemos, because "it was obvious that the law was producing some effects that were not the desired ones and, therefore, So it had to be rectified."

When asked if it has affected the unity of the coalition government, he replied: "We have approved 206 laws and we have not agreed on one. I think it is a tiny percentage."

Asked if he fears that the Minister for Equality, Irene Montero, will leave the Government before the general elections, he said that all the ministers "are very committed to their work."

On the statements of the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez-Feijóo, in which he said verbatim that there are ministers on the run in the Government, he replied: "I would recommend to Mr. Feijóo that he work a little more and make an effort if he wants to have a good result in the elections.
