Hezbollah fires several rockets into Israeli territory in retaliation for the death of Lebanese civilians

The Lebanese militia party Hezbollah has announced the launch of several projectiles against the Israeli town of Kiryat Shmona in retaliation for the death of four civilians - three girls and their grandmother - in a bombing by an Israeli drone in southern Lebanon.

"In revenge for the atrocious and barbaric act committed today by the Zionist enemy against a civilian vehicle (...) in which a woman and her three granddaughters died, the Miyahideen of the Islamic Resistance carried out an action at 7:20 p.m. on Sunday, November 5, 2023," Hezbollah reported in a statement collected by Lebanese television Al Manar, which is affiliated with Hezbollah.

"The fighters have launched a series of Grad (Katiusha) missiles towards the settlement of Kiryat Shmona," the Lebanese Islamist group highlighted, a point that has not been confirmed by the Israeli Armed Forces.

"The Islamic Resistance strongly emphasizes its unwavering commitment to protecting civilians from harm and aggression. It affirms that its response will be decisive and formidable," he added.

Subsequently, a Hezbollah deputy, Hasan Fadlalá, expressed his indignation at this "regrettable act", the attack "against innocent civilians." "The Israelis cannot rationalize this crime (...). They cannot intimidate us, the people of the southern resistance, we are going to face this aggression no matter what the cost," he noted.

Three minors and their grandmother have died due to the impact of an Israeli aircraft projectile against a civilian vehicle this Sunday afternoon between the towns of Blida and Aainata, near the border with Israel.
